Shelly Parker
Title: Controller and General Manager
Company: Strategic Infusion

Shelly believes that “Life isn’t about finding yourself… Life is about creating yourself.”

With diligence, organization, and focus – to name a few of her key attributes – Shelly Parker conducts Strategic Infusion and its operating companies in her role as Controller and General Manager.  She oversees Merlin General Corporation, an engineering and consulting services project company serving the energy industry, CTS North America, a technical staffing company for multiple industries, including the energy industry, and ITECHS, a project company for the energy industry providing consulting services in training, testing, documentation, auditing, and work management processes.

In her position is a challenging mix of leading many staff, carrying out precision accounting and financial practices, and acting in a sales and marketing capacity.  Leadership, too, plays a role in ensuring that she and her staff are continually learning and growing to better serve their clients and contractors within the nuclear industry.

Shelly came from her post-secondary studies at Lambton College, earning herself an Accounting Diploma, numerous Management courses, and Specialized Alternate Dispute Resolution, Negotiations, and Problem Solving Training.  From there, she continued moving forward to Accounting Technician at Deloitte and Touche Chartered Accountants, Controller of Canadian Agra Corporation and has since come into her position at Strategic Infusion.

Shelly credits her energy and drive to the fact that “Our companies are ‘alive’ with dynamic, hard driving, and goal-oriented individuals. All of us are consumed with learning and growth for ourselves and our companies.”  The continued support and mentorship from the organization’s executive, principals, and staff, have enabled Shelly to realize both her career and personal goals.

Joining WiN has helped provide Shelly with an opportunity to increase her understanding of all facets of the nuclear sector, further increasing her confidence in marketing for all her companies.  It also provides her a better understanding of the challenges women face within the industry and opens doors for other females pursuing nuclear careers.  As a member of the WiN-Bruce Chapter, her current efforts involve educating the public, especially women and children, on the safeness of nuclear power.
