Peggy Ancker
Title: Section Manager
Company: Ontario Power Generation

Peggy Ancker currently works as a Section Manager in Performance Engineering at the Darlington plant of Ontario Power Generation. In this role she is responsible for the technical support of the primary systems within the plant. Peggy considers herself fortunate for the opportunity to work with such amazing people everyday. Similarly, her most rewarding project to date was when she was working with engineering hiring.

Peggy has earned a degree in Chemical Engineering, along with a Science Technician Diploma and is certified as a Chemical Engineering Technologist. Throughout her life Peggy has had the chance to meet with many inspiring people who have helped guide her to the career she is in today. As a Section Manager, Peggy gets a sense of personal satisfaction when she is able to solve the issues at the station and see them be implemented. She is also a believer in the familiar saying, ‘if one door closes, look for another.’

Peggy joined WiN after being informed of the association by another WiN member. She enjoys being a member as she admits it provides her with great networking opportunities which have helped her in setting and reaching her personal and career goals. Peggy is currently the chair of the WiN-Durham chapter.

When she is not at work, Peggy enjoys playing a game of volleyball, baking and doing some adventure travelling.

As prepared June 3, 2011.
