With nineteen years in the nuclear industry as an engineer, Parva has gained experience and insight working in various systems of all CANDU reactors at Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL). Parva has over 13 years (1991-2005) of experience as an engineer where she conducted qualification testing of the new design of the fuel bundle. Parva has worked closely with Bruce Power, Chalk River Laboratories, General Electric Canada (GEC) and Zircatec Precision Industries (ZPI). She has also gained valuable international experience working closely with Korean Atomic Research Institute (KAERI) and China. 

In her pervious assignment at AECL Bruce Retubing Project for Units 1 & 2, Parva lead and worked closely with a team of highly skilled engineers and trades to execute the installation of the modified design of the Annulus Gas System.

Prior to joining the Bruce site, Parva worked over 2 years as a Project Engineer on Feeders design activities (part of Heat Transport System) at AECL's head office at Sheridan Park..

Parva is a Mechanical Engineer with a Masters degree from the University of Leeds in the U.K. She is a member of Professional Engineers of Ontario (P.Eng). Parva has presented many technical papers at international conferences. She was member of the organizing committees for three International CANDU Fuel Conferences and for the first Women in Nuclear (WIN) Global Conference held in Canada. Parva has always been a firm believer in the value of continuous improvement, teamwork and leadership at all levels.

Parva joined WiN to offer her mentorship, enhance her leadership skills, network with the women in nuclear, and is now Chair of the Golden Horseshoe West Sub-Committee (WiN-GHW).
