Title: Business Relationship Manager - Shared Services
Company: NB Power Nuclear

Michele is a Business Relationship Manager, Advisor to the Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Operating Company for New Brunswick Power Corporation. She has been in this position since July 2005 and is responsible for corporate wide activities that include the development and execution of service delivery and business support to the Point Lepreau Generating Station and the Nuclear Refurbishment project. Her duties include negotiation, management and renewal of annual service level agreements, management of financial performance, customer service management and delivery and also best practices research in the nuclear industry. She is also an executive member of the New Brunswick Chapter of WiN.

Prior to this role, Michele was a Manager of Strategic Sales Planning for Distribution and Customer Service Operating Company, leading the company’s strategy of sales and customer service; performance management program development and initiatives focused on preparing NB Power for deregulation.

Michele has also held various managerial roles before joining NB Power at Bell Aliant Inc. and Canadelle Inc.

What Michele loves most about her position are the people she works with and the company itself. Her enthusiasm and energy are transformed in her team which makes it easy to be successful. Michele feels her most rewarding project is advancing the leadership agenda for women at NB Power.

Michele received a bachelor’s degree in Business, honours in Marketing from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. She has started courses towards her MBA and has extensive training and accreditation in Leadership, Sales Management, Effective Negotiating and Excellence in customer service.

What has influenced Michele the most is to see women that have achieved senior leadership positions and have made a huge influence in business. She gets personal satisfaction from continually growing, learning, being challenged and knowing there are unlimited opportunities. One message Michele would like to share with young women would be "anything is possible; all you have to do is decide".

Michele sees WiN as a great opportunity to learn about the nuclear industry and help her own marketability within the company. As part of the WiN-NB executive, she would like to help women reach their full potential and have a positive impact.
