Jennifer Ennis
Title: Section Manager Nuclear Security
Company: Ontario Power Generation

“Believe in yourself, speak your mind, and reach beyond your limitations”  - words of encouragement to today’s youth from Jennifer Ennis, a true Woman of WiN.

As a Section Manager of Nuclear Security Support with Ontario Power Generation, Jennifer supervises security support advisors, and the Security Clearance Office. She is also involved in various project work to support OPG’s Darlington and Pickering stations.

Jennifer believes her most rewarding projects to date have been the management of hiring new unarmed security officers since 2007, and participation in the project team for the Online Security Clearance Application project; a system designed to make it easier for new and existing employees to complete their clearances. Jennifer truly enjoys the interaction with peers, and internal and external stakeholders of the nuclear business at Ontario Power Generation.

Before joining OPG, Jennifer was a veteran in the public policing industry, as she was a police officer with the Durham Regional Police for 18 years. She left serving the public with the rank of a Sergeant. Jennifer credits her husband for influencing her the most and providing support, and praises her supervisors at OPG for their mentoring and for influencing her career immensely.

Jennifer was influenced to get involved with Women in Nuclear by her peers and supervisors. As a new member of Women in Nuclear, she looks forward to the benefits of surrounding herself with successful women of the nuclear industry.

Outside of her role at OPG, Jennifer enjoys gourmet cooking, reading, playing sports or spending time with family and friends and her four dogs.
