Darlington Nuclear Generating station has been home to Janet for the past 22 years. Working for Ontario Power Generation, Janet is a section manager of Maintenance Assessing and Procedures and is responsible for ensuring work is assessed when scheduled, for both the regular schedule and outage periods. She also ensures that new Maintenance technical procedures and updates are completed in a timely manner.

Janet attended the Sault College of Applied Arts and Technology in Sault St. Marie, Ontario where she obtained an Instrumentation Certificate. She then completed 2 years of Computer Technology Training. Throughout her educational and professional careers, her source of motivation has always been her mother. She always encouraged Janet to pursue whatever she wanted regardless of what others thought.

Janet takes great satisfaction from working with other people. As a section manager she enjoys being able to praise people for a job well done and thank them for helping the company achieve their goals. Mentoring and providing feedback for those who work for her and then watching them succeed, is her greatest satisfaction.

Janet attended the initial WiN-Canada meeting back in 2004 and immediately knew that it was going to be an excellent organization to be involved with. She enjoys watching others learn and understand more about the industry through the WiN education programs. As well, being a chapter lead has allowed her to develop multi-tasking abilities. Janet feels a great responsibility to the organization and works hard to ensure its success.
