Elise Herzig
Title: Professional Consultant
Company: Consultant to McMaster University

Elise Herzig is a professional consultant with a focus on facilitating stakeholder interests in the nuclear community. She is currently on contract with McMaster University in the capacity of building and implementing strategies for the
commercial operations of the McMaster Nuclear Reactor and facilitating other special projects.

Her role at McMaster has included creating a viable business that supports the reactor’s operations and doing a technology transfer of its patented I-125 technology.

Drawing on twenty-four years of experience as a consultant, manager and industry innovator, Elise’s core competencies reflect a broadly based, yet very targeted, track record of delivering and surpassing results and expectations.

While working in venture capital, Elise was parachuted into various companies to support senior management, provide ad-hoc project management, assist in strengthening organizations, and develop and implement strategic plans.
Elise’s clients have also included Crown Corporations, small businesses and not-for-profits. Her work in restructuring the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation was
instrumental in their governance and growth strategies and as such, Elise was given an award in recognition of her contribution to the organization. Elise continues to serve as an advisor to many not-for-profits.

Elise incorporates her passion for life and learning in her management consulting practice. One of Elise’s first roles was to act as an integration liaison. Her mandate was to bridge the rift between the users and technical support staff of a major corporate initiative that had failed. Elise often says that the three core skills she used in that role formed the foundation for her career – the ability to earn the trust of others, to hear their needs and to translate them into achievable goals. Whether working as a consultant, advisor, mentor or storyteller, the common thread in Elise’s work has been to help others expand both the internal
and external lens of their environments.

Elise complements her business skills, with her love of art, stories, spirituality, and cooking. By sharing thoughts and ideas, Elise creates a common language to connect with those around her.

Born in Montreal, she has lived in Canada and the United States.

Elise resides in Toronto with her husband and their two children.

Created on February 16, 2009.
