Women of WiN
Corinne Draesner
Company: Bruce Power
Corinne has worked with Bruce Power for the past 23 years. She is currently the Nuclear Systems Manager in Bruce A Performance Engineering.
A varied and impressive educational background speaks to Corinne’s many interests. Corinne holds a degree in Engineering Physics, an MBA, and a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies. Before starting at Bruce Power, she worked for Atomic Energy of Canada Limited - Sheridan Park, Fisher and Porter, and London Nuclear. However, it was a summer job at Rolphton’s Nuclear Power Demonstration (the first Canadian nuclear power reactors and prototype for the CANDU reactor) that really inspired Corinne to devote her career to the nuclear industry.
Corinne’s passion for the nuclear industry is evident- she genuinely enjoys the fact that she makes a difference through her contributions to Bruce Power, especially seeing awareness of the industry’s standards of professionalism grow.
Corinne first got involved with WiN because of her desire to persuade people that nuclear power is the responsible answer to our energy requirements. Since becoming a member, she has realized that everyone in the industry faces the same challenges, and that we have a responsibility to be role models for others in the industry.
As prepared on March 22, 2010.
