Women in Nuclear - WiN Canada

Christina Wu, an engineer at Kinectrics, is a driven and hardworking woman in the world of nuclear. She is given a vast variety of jobs to take on, which is exactly what motivates her to come to work everyday. Christina is heavily involved with project management. With over 150 clients in North America and worldwide, Kinectrics is a leading testing, inspection, certification and consulting company with unique laboratory and testing facilities.  

Christina, a Queen’s University grad with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Chemistry, says that her most gratifying project as an engineer at Kinectrics has been impossible to pinpoint since they are all so different and challenging in various ways. Part of an award-winning team of 400 engineers at Kinectrics, Christina says that providing people with results and knowing her work helps others work safely every day, has got to be the most rewarding aspect of her career.

Christina’s winning candidate for most influential person in her life is her mother. “She is successful in everything she does because she always gives 110%,” states Christina of her mom.  

The women of WiN engaged Christina and inspired her to start her journey with the organization. She enjoys being a member of a group that recognizes the accomplishment of women and helps them be heard. She especially enjoys learning about the achievements of other admirable and inspiring women, as this gives her motivation to set and pursue goals in her life.  In her spare time, apart from her engineering role at Kinectrics, she takes pleasure in golf, travelling and spending time at the cottage.  

Advice for others, and young women in the industry from Christina, “Follow the path you enjoy as your happiness will fuel your success”.
