Have your say on Win-Canada's CNSC intervention in support of OPG's PWMF Operating Licence Renewal
February 27, 2017
The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) has made funding available through its Participant Funding Program to assist members of the public, aboriginal groups, and other stakeholders in providing value-added information to the Commission through informed and topic-specific interventions. This funding was offered to review the Pickering Waste Management Facility (PWMF) Operating Licence Renewal application submitted by Ontario Power Generation and the Commission Member document (CMD) prepared by the CNSC.
The CNSC has awarded Women in Nuclear (WiN) Canada participant funding for participation in the PWMF Operating Licence Renewal process. PCWatson Engineering and Sustainable Policy Inc. has been retained by WiN-Canada to conduct a technical review of the PWMF Operating Licence Renewal application and the CMD, focusing on real and perceived issues for women workers both at PWMF and for WiN members in general.
A survey has been prepared with the intent of identifying any differences between men and women when it comes to:
- potential risks of working at PWMF over the extended operating period or
- risks to the general public (as represented by WiN members) related to the extended operating period proposed for PWMF.
Please complete our online survey. We would appreciate your responses to this survey by March 3, 2017. It should take less than 15 minutes. Your opinions are important
Thank you in advance for supporting WiN-Canada in this and other initiatives.
