WiN-Canada Lending a Helping Hand at Annual Holiday Meetings
As 2009 closes and we move into 2010 several WiN-Canada local chapters are lending a helping hand to women who may be looking to re-enter the workforce and do not have the means to purchase suitable business attire for job interviews and the first weeks of work.
WiN-Durham and WiN-Golden Horseshoe West were very generous bringing several suits to be donated to the organization "Dress for Success". Dress for Success Toronto is a registered Canadian Charity that changes the lives of Canadians and new Canadians by providing low income women with the necessary professional attire and career development tools they need to achieve success. Their unique wardrobe service helps clients look impressive, feel confident, and find employment. Founded in 2000 by Executive Director, Jessica Roelink, the organization is volunteer-driven, utilizing the skills of many talented people. Since its inception, Dress For Success Toronto has outfitted over 5,500+ clients with over 27,500 quality suits.
WiN-Bruce made their donations of business attire locally to the United Way of Bruce & Grey. The many items donated will help women who are moving off the Ontario Works program and into the workforce, dress for success as they attend interviews and enter the workforce with a selection of professional clothing. "WiN had a great response, and the donations will be a wonderful help to women making the transition back into the workforce," said Francesca Dobbyn, Executive Director, of the United Way of Bruce Grey.

These clothes will be given to women attending job interviews in 2010, who may not have the means to purchase new business attire.
