 February 22, 2010: Women in Engineering – Winter Event

Parva Alavi, P. Eng, will do a presentation on Women in the Nuclear Industry.  Parva has worked as an engineer for 19 years in the nuclear industry.  Her current role is Senior Fuel Test Engineer, Fuel Design Branch, Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd.  She is a Mechanical Engineer with a Masters degree from the University of Leeds in the UK.  Parva has presented many technical papers at international conferences.

In addition, Parva is a board member of Women in Nuclear (WiN) Canada, and Chair of Golden Horseshoe West (GHW), a chapter of WiN Canada that covers 20 member companies from Scarborough to Hamilton.  Parva has always been a firm believer in the value of continuous improvement, teamwork and leadership at all levels.
