As part of our on-going community relations programs, representatives from the Point Lepreau Generating Station Safety and Environmental group, PLGS Safety Manager and members of the Women in Nuclear, New Brunswick Chapter (Bernice Lanigan & Brenda McKee), participated in raising environmental awareness with the Fundy Shores School in Maces Bay, NB on May 12, 2008.

The workshop comprised of 14 groups of various ages ranging from kindergarten to grade eight working together with a professional graphic designer to depict ideas on how we can help protect the environment.

Some of the topics included: conserving energy, recycling, global warming, preventing spills and clean energy. All students offered creative solutions on things we can all do to protect the environment at home, at work and at school.

The students were very creative with their drawings which will be displayed at the Point Lepreau Generating Station as a reminder of the importance of protecting the environment and the community's confidence in our ability to help protect the Earth.
