WiN-Bruce GIRLS Science Camp

WiN-Bruce GIRLS Science Camp

August 10 - 14, 2009

Summer vacation may be just on the verge of beginning, but we are already gearing up for our GIRLS Science Club science and engineering summer camp, GEMS, from Aug. 10th to 14th!

We are very excited to invite you to join us for a week of hands-on experiences and fun!

Please find a registration form attached below that must be filled out and returned to us as soon as possible, along with a cheque for $125.00, made payable to Bruce Power. There are only 25 spots available in this exciting camp and they will be awarded on first-come, first-served basis.

On page three on the registration form attachment you will find a schedule of the activities and events that will take place during the week. Each day there is a different science theme geared towards girls’ interests. Crafts and outdoor activities will also be featured.

The camp will take place at the Bruce Power Visitors’ Centre and each day lunch and snacks will be provided. Please let us know on the attached registration form of any allergies or food restrictions (e.g. vegetarianism), so that we can plan meals accordingly.

GEMS (Girls in Engineering Math & Science) is a not-for-profit program for girls ages 8 to 12. The goal is to enlighten and inspire young minds in the world of science, math and engineering. The program specializes in providing young females with the opportunity to participate in an innovative and enriching camp experience. At GEMS, the belief is that promoting science, math and engineering to girls at an early age will develop a desire for learning and discovery among them.

If you have any others questions about the camp, registration or payment, please feel free to contact me at
