GIRLS Science Camp 2009 - Day 5

GIRLS Science Camp 2009 - Day 5

August 14, 2009

It was a full day packed with experiments, project completion and fun on the final day of the GIRLS Science Camp.

The campers spent time in the morning finishing up their Science Fashionistas projects to show off to parents at the open house. We voted on all the wonderful puppets the girls had created and then got into some more science experiments.

We discovered that it is very difficult to build a car that will go the distance in our Zoom Zoom Mechanics experiment. A race between all the cars took place after lunch and a few cars were able to travel a short distance fuelled by their balloon engine.

We also built catapults which had grapes flying through the air during our competition.

The day ended with the girls presenting their Science Fashionistas projects to a packed house in the theatre at the Visitors' Centre. The girls showed off how much they had learned through a game of Jeopardy. It was absolutely amazing how much the girls had picked up over the five day camp.

Check out the pictures below of our final day.

See everyone next year!
