GIRLS Science Camp - Day 3

August 12, 2009

More fun at the GIRLS Science Camp today.

The girls started the day working on their project to show off to parents on Friday.

They then learned how acid causes corrosion by putting chalk into different solutions. Lemon juice is not kind to chalk! We learned about different types of electricity and discussed the pros and cons of different energy sources.

The soccer tournament continued at lunch.

After lunch we learned an important lesson about why scientists always build a protoype before they start production on a product. Not all scientific experiments work well. Our boats didn't have the thrust promised by the antacid tablets.

A craft session finished off another successful day.
