Earth Hour 2010
Earth Hour 2010
March 27, 2010
WiN-Canada supports the Earth Hour initiative being presented by the World Wildlife Foundation.
Follow the impact earth hour has on the electricity distribution system by logging onto http://www.ieso.ca/earthhour%2D2010/. During Earth Hour, a graph will compare the actual electricity demand in the province against the demand on a typical Saturday with similar weather conditions in order to determine the maximum amount of electricity saved in megawatts (MW).
The WWF website states: “On March 27 at 8:30 p.m., hundreds of millions of people around the world will turn off their lights for an hour to demand action on climate change. But that's just the beginning. Every hour, Canadians are taking small steps to lessen their impact on the environment. From hanging your clothes to dry to taking transit to work, those small steps add up to huge changes for the better."
