Day 3 - GIRLS Science Camp GEMS 2010

Day three was all about helping Engineers without Borders and saving the planet. In the morning we made our own water filtration system and cleaned up some pretty murky water into some crystal clear water and some not so much! We learned all about the economics of providing countries with clean water and discovered that countries that do no have many resources have more trouble finding solutions to simple problems like water filtration. 

In the afternoon we learned that global warming is hot stuff! We did an experiment that showed how adding CO2 warms things up. We talked a lot about things we could do to save the planet, so rest easy Moms and Dads, no more lights left on at your house. We finished off the day by making our own clothespin dolls. 

Can’t wait for Day Four at Camp GEMS.
