Cheryl Cottrill, Executive Director, WiN-Canada

WiN has been my passion since 2004 when fellow-blogger, Susan Brissette, and I held our first WiN-Canada meeting in Ottawa. At that time I was a new-comer to the industry and WiN helped provide valuable information and insights into the nuclear industry.

Over the past seven years I have gained experience working in various capacities at Bruce Power, including Corporate Communications, Business Improvement and Community Relations as well as my involvement with WiN. As Executive Director of Women in Nuclear (WiN) Canada, I am responsible for the day-to-day operations of programs, activities, special events and outreach programs.

Prior to joining Bruce Power in 2002, I worked as law clerk for over 20 years.  Today, I use those same research and effective communication skills, in my current position. I strongly believe WiN makes a positive contribution to the industry and I’m very excited about the new outreach programs designed to help young girls and women look at the nuclear industry as a first choice career option.

I am a graduate of the Public Relations Certificate Program at the University of Victoria and the Law Clerk program at Georgian College. I love to spend time with my family and friends, travel and stay in touch with the world using social media.
